IVY Container

As adaptable as a chameleon, the IVY storage unit by Studio Besau-Marguerre is a mobile storage piece that brings colour and joy to the office – but fits just as naturally into many other rooms and can be used in a multitude of ways: as a side table in the living area, a bedside table in the bedroom, a compact minibar in the kitchen, a product shelf in the bathroom, or a stool wherever it happens to be needed.

„Deliberately reduced in form, IVY places a clear focus on colour,“ say the design duo Marcel Besau and Eva Marguerre. The unit can be specified in a single colour or in two different tones, and a combination of high-gloss and matt finishes is equally possible – with the full Schönbuch colour palette at your disposal.

IVY is available in two widths and two heights, as well as five configurations distinguished by their combination of open compartment, drawer, and door. Every model features an open top shelf for quick access to small essentials, or as a stage for cherished objects. The low, wide version accommodates a seat cushion, transforming the unit into a stool when needed. IVY is usually stationary, but optional hidden castors are available for those who like to move things around.

Additional shelves can be incorporated across all configurations. Marcel Besau and Eva Marguerre explain the thinking behind the design: „In chameleons, colour change serves not primarily as camouflage, but above all as a means of communicating with others of their kind.“ IVY works in much the same way: depending on the choice of colour, the unit can blend discreetly into an interior or act as an expressive statement in the (home) office. Either way – a rather smart colleague.
