LIO DESK

LIO is the big brother of the IVY storage unit, which Studio Besau-Marguerre designed for Schönbuch the previous year. IVY bears the name of the design duo’s daughter, LIO that of their son – a personal story that continues in the natural kinship between the two pieces. The result is a desk with a clear character, bringing stability and lightness into a considered balance.

Formally, LIO presents itself as calm and precise. The softly rounded edges soften the geometry’s severity and lend the piece an inviting presence. The proportions are deliberately compact, the design feels pared back without being cold. LIO integrates effortlessly into a variety of interiors while maintaining a distinctive character of its own.

The desk is available in two widths – 110 and 140 centimetres – at a height of 86 centimetres and depths of 60 or 70 centimetres. Both the frame and the desktop can be finished in matt lacquer; alternatively, the top is available in natural oak with an open-pore lacquer finish, or in a new stained finish.

Originally conceived for office and home office use, LIO is equally well suited as a dressing table in the bedroom or as a desk in a child’s or teenager’s room.
